Seeing Christ in the World .... Being Christ in the World

Deanery Synod

We are part of the Romney and Tenterden Deanery. Each church in the Deanery is represented on the Deanery Synod by a quota of members from each congregation elected for 3 years at every 3rd annual meeting of their church. The Area Dean is elected from among the clergy of the Deanery churches. The Chairman, Secretary and Treasurer are elected from among the ordinary members of the Deanery Synod. The Deanery Synod has the role of coordinating matters common to all the churches in the Deanery.

The Deanery Synod usually meets twice a year. The Deanery members are also ex-officio members of their own church’s PCC. Members of each congregation are encouraged to serve on the Deanery Synod. If you feel so called you should fill in a nomination form (to be found at the back of your church) and if 2 persons are willing to nominate and second you, submit the form to your church PCC secretary in time for the relevant triennial Annual Meeting.
