Seeing Christ in the World .... Being Christ in the World

St. Michael's Choir

The Choir; or the “Girls” as we are fondly known, are the representative music support for St Michael’s Church.

The Choir is currently under the direction of Tracey Laws and the Organist is Ed Adams.  Prior to this the Choir was ably directed by the late Marilyn Melville-Cross who was also the Organist. Sheila Richards is the deputy Organist. We meet fortnightly for choir practice on Thursday evenings at 7pm.

The choir is not exclusively for ladies; we would welcome the opportunity to have some men join in too – even if it is on an ad hoc basis for special events such as Patronal Festival and Christmas. We enjoy a variety of music including new works composed for us by Ed, Tracey and Sheila.

As members of the RSCM we try to attend the annual festival in October and to take part in the premiere of a new work commissioned by RSCM Canterbury by Paul Mealor.

New members are most welcome – all ages!
